Domestic Architectural Joinery – Private Client

Private, domestic clients Andy and Tammy Shaw approached Lichfields Furniture to put the finishing touches to their barn conversion project at their rural home in Staffordshire.

Requiring the very best finish using thermal, environmentally friendly materials, we designed, manufactured and installed a new stable, hardwood door to compliment The Shaw’s door with oversized, glazing bars and large lights, allowing light through and brighten up their kitchen.

The barn conversion, also required a new ‘porch’ to provide a safe-haven from the elements to compliment the new door and frame of the entrance. Considerations of materials, height, placement and size all had to be assessed to ensure the new porch was in keeping with the rest of the property. We designed a new green oak porch, with a leaded, detailed roof sloping away from the barn and fitted under the existing roof height using  traditional joinery methods to enhance the styling of the property.

Over 38 linear meters of premium grade Iroko was used for the new door and frame
